Test Drive FAQ

What is the Orion Test Drive?
A guided trial in a safe, non-production environment. Your team drives the real Orion software on sample data (nothing migrates) while your Switch Navigator walks you through your specialty's workflows. It's how you prove your new EHR works in a practice space before you make the final switch.
How is it different from a demo or a free trial?
A free trial hands you a login and wishes you luck. A demo is a screen-share you watch a salesperson run. The Test Drive is the opposite: you drive the real product yourself, set up for your clinic, with a Switch Navigator guiding you, and you prove the functions your clinic runs on one at a time.
Does my data get migrated for the Test Drive?
No. The Test Drive uses sample data only, nothing from your current EHR is touched, and your live system keeps running as your system of record. Migration only happens later, in stages, after you decide to switch.
What if a function doesn't pass?
That's not a refund trigger. Your Switch Navigator works it with you until it holds, since proving it is exactly what the rehearsal is for. The guarantee covers proving your whole plan and still deciding Orion isn't the right fit, not any single function on the first try.
How much does it cost?
$1,500, credited back in full the moment you switch to Orion. It covers your Switch Navigator's time scoping, setting up, and proving each function with you.
What happens after the Test Drive?
If Orion is right for you, you move to go-live: Orion keeps running alongside your current EHR (your first real patient already went through it during the Test Drive) and the whole clinic is fully operational roughly 35 days later. If it isn't right, you keep the Go-Live Readiness Pack and walk away knowing exactly where you stand.
